Program Management
 The Shahzad Group carries within itself impressive program management credentials. The collective experience of its members covers all industry segments and some of the most prominent names in each.
The Shahzad Group undertakes program management for large infrastructure development projects in and around Pakistan. These programs are funded by multilateral financial institutions and require staffing at international levels of expertise, which the group provides.
Oil & Gas Exploration
Shahzad International has played a commendable role in bringing world-renowned multinational companies to Pakistan, for substantial investment in the oil and gas sector, which has culminated into large discoveries in the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan. Shahzad International also arranges procurements and other specialized services from abroad and is a supplier of general machinery, equipment, sophisticated materials and services to energy related industries in Pakistan and all over the world.
Natural Resource Management
The Northern Areas of Pakistan provide many sites for the development of hydroelectric power with minimal ecological impact, and the government is providing attractive incentives to parties interested in developing the potential. In addition, there are pilot projects underway to convert waste to energy, and with recent advances in technology, the area of renewable energy is not only encouraged for its green nature, but is also now commercially viable.
The Shahzad Group provides expertise in the development of projects in both areas, and is negotiating with interested parties to establish projects accordingly.
Mining & Mineral Processing
In spite of the daunting challenges posed, for example by long gestation periods etc, mining is recognized by Shahzad International as an attractive untapped business opportunity. Consequently, Shahzad International has established a new mining company “Global Mining Company (Pvt) Limited (GMC) in Islamabad as a member of the group to spearhead the exploitation of the mineral potential of Pakistan by the private sector.
The Shahzad Group has targeted precious stones as its area of expertise in mining. It has acquired leases of Aquamarine (Shigar), Ruby (Hunza) and Gold (Ranthak and Hushe) in the Northern Area of Pakistan. Shahzad Group is compiling pre-feasibility on the gemstone prospects with a view to establish gemstone mining, trading and cutting/polishing by summer 2007.
Shahzad Group is also setting up a coal washing plant of 1 million ton annual capacity at Lakhra Coal suitable for washing. The washed coal has a good market for use as a substitute fuel in cement kilns and for power generation. Shahzad International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Sindh on this. Negotiations with a foreign company are also under way to sign a joint venture agreement and to initiate project activities.

Any complex project of scale in the developing world undertaken by international concerns requires local handling capability.
